Ballet

Ballet is the oldest form of dance, it is a disciplined genre  using formalized and intricate steps and gestures to tell a story through movement. This genre concentrates on poise, strength and accurate placing. Little Dancers provides Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) graded, syllabus Ballet classes with careful staged achievable goals and examinations available. Classes from Pre School through to Vocational Grades.

Modern

Modern Theatre Dance is a rhythmic style of dance often seen on stages of musicals and music videos. This genre is another disciplined style which concentrates on strength, stamina and performance skills. Little Dancers offers ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) Modern Theatre syllabus graded classes. Examinations available. Classes from Primary Grade - Vocational Grades

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a style developed in the mid twentieth century that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, ballet and lyrical jazz. Contemporary is a less disciplined style compared to Ballet or Modern and dancers strive to connect the mind and body through fluid movements.

Tap

Tap is a rhythmic dance style characterized by using sounds of the tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. Shoes have metal 'taps' on the heel and toes. Little Dancers offer ISTD Tap classes from Primary to Vocational Grades with examinations available.

Acrobatic

Acro classes concentrate on teaching pupils lifts, flips and acrobatic tricks to enhance their skills and choreography for other dance genres. These are non syllabus classes and we do encourage pupils to select another form of dance to train alongside Acro for the full benefit.

Street Jazz

St Jazz stems from modern day dance styles like hip hop, breakdancing, funk and electronic. This genre concentrates on the robotic, isolations of breakdancing and the fluid, improvisational steps from hip hop.
